The Opportunity

As the Lead, Branded Events, you will be a central partner in ensuring absolute brand consistency across all event touchpoints. Reporting directly to the Manager, Events, you will lead the end-to-end design and flawless execution of medium-to-complex internal and partner-driven events, acting as the ultimate guardian of the Platform Calgary events brand experience. We are looking for a team member who possesses the strategic execution to engage effectively within the Platform Team, our partners and stakeholders while understanding how their work supports our overarching strategic priorities.
The Day-to-Day Activities


  • Core Function Support: Lead the end-to-end design and flawless execution of medium-to-complex internal and partner-driven events, ensuring absolute brand consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a strategic partner to the Marketing, Programs, and Partnerships teams. Guide internal stakeholders on event best practices, timelines, and realistic operational capabilities.
  • Strategic Execution:  Act as the primary operational lead for Platform 'Signature Events' (including Innovation Week, Launch Party, and AGM). Manage complex show calls, direct technical rehearsals, and champion inclusive event design.
  • Asset & Resource Management: Oversee the development of intricate Banquet and Event Orders (BEOs) in Momentus. Take ownership of designated event budgets, ensuring complex events are delivered strictly within financial boundaries.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively and professionally across multiple departments to maintain seamless event execution and high standards of service. This includes collaborating with the Coordinator, Events to share best practices and provide thought leadership on guest flow and service design
  • The Platform Way: Participate in Platform’s ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives and embrace our "All Hands" values by assisting with internal events and other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Event Management or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 6+ years of experience in Event Management or Experiential Marketing/Technical Event Production.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Suite, Asana, Hubspot. Familiarity with AI tools to improve workflows and experience in Momentus (or equivalent venue management software) is a major asset.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a polished representative of Platform Calgary.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and see tasks through from planning to execution.
